OSHA has no tree care standard of its own yet, and a proposed rule is still pending. Its tree care guidance focuses on falls, falling objects and power lines. Pages that explain your safety training answer the questions owners ask before a crane shows up.
Permit rules differ by state and town. In Florida, for example, a 2019 law amended in 2022 bars local permits for removing a home's tree that poses an unacceptable risk. The owner needs a signed risk assessment from an ISA certified arborist or a Florida-licensed landscape architect. We add specific permit notes to town pages where they apply.
